Hafod Housing’s HR team has been in place for one year and has made huge strides in partnership with the business and promoting transformational HR in order to support the company’s initiative to supporting the well-being of its employees. New ways of working have challenged the team and the wider organisation to which the team has demonstrated the ability to perform within areas of expertise, is enthusiastic, authentic and credible.

To achieve its business ambition ‘to be the best Intellectual Property Office’ in an environment that’s rapidly changing, the Intellectual Property Office places learning and development at the heart of its team. With a focus on learning and development, Intellectual Property Office’s HR team designed and implemented a plethora of innovative initiatives encouraging employees to ‘think out of the box’, collaborate with colleagues and listen to fellow coworkers. This strategy has positively impacted both employees and the organisation.
This award recognises HR/L&D teams that have worked closely together and partnered with the business to deliver value through people-focused initiatives and practices.
The judges were looking for evidence of:
• how the team collaborated, supported and developed team members, while working across the business, achieving results through effective team working;
• how the team coordinated itself, aligned its objectives to the overall objectives of the organisation and had a positive impact on employees/business performance;
• how, through their involvement and engagement, the team has helped the organisation to achieve its objectives in areas such as: learning and development, change management, new markets or innovation.
